Shawn Miller was recently honored at Habitat for Humanity-South Dakota's annual Simple Homes, Big Dreams banquet in Sioux Falls.
Miller was named Habitat for Humanity of East Central South Dakota's Supporter of the Year for his dedication and financial contribution to the local Habitat chapter.
Miller volunteered to be the construction manager in 2007 and personally volunteered more than 400 hours for that build and the most recent house.
Barb Johnson, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of East Central South Dakota, said the group is grateful for his efforts.
"We were extremely happy that Shawn put in so many intense, dedicated hours with Habitat," Johnson said.
Habitat for Humanity of East Central South Dakota receives help and support from numerous individuals, businesses and groups each year.
The purpose of the Simple Homes, Big Dreams celebration is to inform, inspire and invest. The day began with training sessions for South Dakota Habitat affiliates and state board representatives.
Simple Homes, Big Dreams attendees invested in Habitat's mission of eliminating substandard housing and making affordable housing a matter of conscience and action.
