Gas Prices Rise, So Do Groceries

Besides gas prices rising, most of us are also seeing prices go up for basic items at the grocery store.
Those increases are also spilling over to some state programs. Rhonda Buntrock is the state WIC director in South Dakota.
WIC stands for women, infants and children, and helps lower income mothers with proper nutrition for their kids. Buntrock says they are seeing more people come to them for help.
Buntrock says WIC help is income based, now up to 185 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
Buntrock says the program tries to provide balanced nutrition.
Buntrock says they expect their numbers to stay strong as long as the commodity prices continue high.
