Power Outage UPDATE

About 60 customers of Sioux Valley Energy lost electricity this afternoon because of fire in a cornfield west of Madison. The energy company shut off power so crews could fight the fire. It wasn't immediately known if the fire destroyed any power poles, which could extend the power outage while the poles are replaced. All but 10 of the customers had their power restored minutes after the fire. Sioux Valley officials say they hope to have the power restored by 3:30 this afternoon.
