60 Sioux Valley Customers Get Power Restored
Posted on Friday, November 2, 2007
A fire in a corn field west of Madison yesterday left 60 Sioux Valley Energy customers without power. Shortly, before 2PM yesterday afternoon Sioux Valley crews get a call from 911 alerting them that a downed power pole had started the corn field on fire. All but 10 of the Sioux Valley customers had their power restored within minutes of it going down. Those other 10 had power restored within hours. Power was completely cut to the power pole so fire crews could extinguish the flames. The corn field had already been harvested, so only the remaining corn stalks burned.
