New Public Works Director Hired in Madison

At last evening’s Madison City Commission meeting, the commissioners appointed Jencks and Jencks Law Offices to fill their legal services position beginning on January 1st 2008 and fulfilling a term until Dec 31st of 2010. Currently, legal services are provided by Jay Liebel.
Also at last evening’s meeting, the commission announced that a replacement for retiring Public Works Director Jerry Mikel (Michael) had been found. Heath VonEye currently works in Brookings as the Assistant City Engineer. VonEye will begin working in Madison on November 26th, and will train with Mikel until December 22nd when his retirement officially begins.
The next meeting of the Madison City Commissioners will be held on Monday, November 12th beginning at 5:30 PM.
