Beef Roundtable to be Held in Madison

Grain and livestock outlook will be featured topics at a “Beef Roundtable Outlook” meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 20 at Nicky’s in Madison. Registration is at 6:45PM with the meeting beginning at 7:00.

South Dakota State University Livestock and Grain Marketing Specialists, Matt Diersen and Alan May will be present to talk “outlook” for livestock and grains. McCook County Farm Business Marketing educator Heather Gessner will explore a feeder cattle and beef cow budget with a special focus on the impact of higher feed costs to the livestock producers.

Extension Livestock educators Tracey Renelt and Jim Krantz will review management adjustments available to deal with escalating production costs in the cow herd and a brief look at drylotting beef cows in an effort to maintain herd numbers.
