Madison Woman Oldest Person in SD

Neva Gist of Madison is now the oldest person alive in South Dakota after 110-year-old Aberdeen resident Florence Johnson died on Friday.

Johnson was born in 1897, graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1916 and worked at several jobs, including the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad.

LuAnn Severson with the South Dakota Health Care Association says Gist is 108-years-old.
