Fire Crews Called to Activated Pressure Release Door at Dakota Ethanol

Wentworth and Colman Fire crews were dispatched to a report from Dakota Ethanol in Wentworth. Though no flames needed to be extinguished, a pressure release door that released as designed from one of the dryer systems needed tending to. General Manager Scott Mundt says with the various monitoring procedures to ensure safety, the released pressure door was noticed immediately and help was called.
But, Mundt says the dryer has a built in fire suppression system that activated itself.
Mundt says no product was lost in the ordeal.
This is the second time in under a month that fire crews were called to the ethanol plant. In late October, Chester, Madison and Wentworth Fire Departments were called to a conveyer belt fire.
