The city commissioners approved amendments on Monday to two municipal ordinances dealing with zoning regulations and platting subdivision property.
The zoning amendment allows the city Board of Adjustment to approve sheet metal covering for certain roofs if the board members find that the material "is compatible with the surrounding area." The material must meet or exceed the added conditions of its use as determined by the board.
The second amendment regarding subdivisions allowed the city engineer to have the authority to revise certain plat certificates.
The commissioners also gave their final approval for the sale of the former Rosebud property in downtown Madison to the Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership. ICAP, nonprofit organization, has agreed to purchase the half-block of property for $135,000.
At the start of the meeting, City Finance Officer Jeff Heinemeyer asked the commissioners to remove plans to hold an executive session from the meeting agenda. The executive session was originally requested to discuss contract negotiations.
