Lewis and Clark Water System Keeps Contractors Busy

The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System has contractors busy on a number of projects. They plan to deliver water to towns and cities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota over the next several years. Executive Director Troy Larson says they have almost half of their needed wells drilled.
Larson says they think they will have adequate water from their well fields south of Vermillion.
Larson says they also signed a contract with the Western Area Power Administration to supply the bulk of their electricity needs.
Larson says they hope to be able to re-issue bids for the water treatment plant very soon. Those bids were rejected last month because they came in well over estimates.
