Trans Canada Keystone Pipeline Project On Schedule

A major piece of the Keystone Pipeline project is on schedule. The State Department held a series of public meetings this fall, looking for public comment on the draft environmental impact statement.
That document measures the impact the crude oil pipeline could have along its route through the Dakotas and Nebraska.
Hearing Officer Elizabeth Orlando says they are working through the public comments section of the hearings.
Orlando says it was very helpful for them to come to the area, and see the landscape.
Orlando says the final environmental impact statement should be out by the end of the year.
She says only about 1000 formal comments were entered on the record.
Trans Canada wants to ship about 450 thousand barrels of oil a day to refineries in Kansas and Illinois.
