MDL Editor to Address Madison City Commissioners

The Madison City Commissioners will hear from Jon Hunter with the Madison Daily Leader newspaper tonight at their regularly scheduled meeting. Hunter will discuss with the commission a mix-up by the MDL which caused the city to lose out on $7,000 worth of interest from pool bonds that could not be sold last week because of the MDL’s mix-up. The city’s pool bonds which were set to be sold on November 29th are not being sold until December 11th now because the pool notices were not published in the paper for 2 consecutive weeks, as state law requires.

Also at tonight’s meeting, the date and time for an open house public meeting on the 2008 floodplain map will be set.

The Madison City Commissioners will discuss these topics and more at their meeting tonight beginning at 5:30PM.
