LCSO Responds to 2nd 2-Vehicle Accident in 24 Hours

Around 4:20 Wednesday afternoon, the Lake County Sheriff’s Department was called to a report of an accident at the intersection of Highway 34 and 19 in Wentworth.

Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Walburg says 26-year old Amanda Anderson of Madison was traveling east on Highway 34 in her 2002 Dodge Dakota, making a left hand turn when 23-year old Suman Mittapally, who was also traveling east in his ‘96 Dodge Intrepid, attempted to pass her and struck the front drivers side panel of her car. The impact caused Mittpally’s vehicle to lose control and slide through the intersection and run over a sign. Walburg says Mittapally was cited for overdriving road conditions. Mittapally told law enforcement officials he was traveling 65 miles an hour when the accident occurred.

Anderson complained of stiffness but was not transported to the hospital, Mittapally was not injured.
