Dakota State University Deals with Budget Cuts
Posted on Wednesday, April 20, 2011
Dakota State University (DSU) in Madison, SD has announced its plan to deal with the decreased state support many schools are facing.
Due to the information technology (IT) focus of the university and the current high demand for the programs at DSU, no programmatic cuts are being made at this time. Instead, the 2011-2012 fiscal year budget accounts for the reduction in funding from the state by not filling open positions until additional financial support is provided or enrollment growth occurs, and by increasing tuition costs 6.9%.
The loss in state support for DSU will be approximately $300,000.
