Kindergarten Registration

If you have a student eligible for Kindergarten during the 2011 – 2012 school term, and have not registered, you may stop at Madison Elementary to fill out the necessary forms. It will take approximately 15 minutes.

To be eligible for kindergarten a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2011. A child who is six years old on or before the first day of September is required to attend school in accordance with the compulsory attendance law.

In order to register for kindergarten you will need to bring a copy of your child’s certified birth certificate and current immunization record with you. State law requires that the school have a copy of the birth certificate on file. Hospital certificates cannot be accepted.

School district officials ask that if you know of someone in your neighborhood that needs to be notified about registration, please inform them. Those with questions are to call 256-7721.
