2011 Miracle Treat Day Approaching

Miracle Treat Day will be held Thursday, August 11, 2011. Excitement for this day can be felt throughout the community as everyone turns out to support the great cause and enjoy a great treat. Adding to the excitement is the fact that for the past four years, Madison's Dairy Queen has generated record sales with 21,407 Blizzards® sold in 2010!

Since partnering with the Children's Miracle Network in 1984, Dairy Queens across the country have helped raise over $86 million to help sick and injured children at 170 children's hospitals across North America. With at least $1 from every Blizzard® sold being donated, the national 2010 Miracle Treat Day contributed $5.5 million dollars to that amount.

Madison's Dairy Queen has again challenged itself (and it's owner, DeLon Mork) with a 25,000 Blizzard® goal. If the store meets it's sales challenge, Mork's challenge would then involve ski-diving out of an airplane, which would be videoed and posted on Internet.

Events planned for the day include the following.

A live webcam will be hosted inside Madison's Dairy Queen and can be viewed at www.madisonsd.com/webcam.

There will be kids entertainment from 4 PM to 9 PM on Harth Ave. east of DQ & Trinity Lutheran Church with Giant Inflatable's, Games Tattoos, Face Painting, Water balloons, Zoo Mobile, and Phil Baker performing from 6:30 –7:30 PM.

There will also be live music in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church from 5:30 to 11 PM. Performers include Richard Wolf, Street Legal Band, and Greg Hanson and the Backroads.
