Vehicle Drives Into Loopy's Dollar Store Downtown

Shortly before 2:30PM on Friday, August 19th, a Chevy Traverse entered the front door of Loopy's Dollar Store in downtown Madison. The driver of the vehicle was attempting to park when her foot slipped from the brake to the gas pedal and the vehicle proceeded over the curb and hit a 21-year-old man before entering the store.
Neither the driver or the pedestrian were seriously injured in the accident. A customer in Loopy's also suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Damage to the vehicle was estimate at around $6000. The store experienced significant damage with initial estimates around $30,000.
