Recycling Changes

In order to decrease the solid waste collection and increase recycling, effective February 1, 2012, the City of Madison will be expanding its recycling efforts. Our recycling program is MANDATORY and these new items need to be added to your recycling.

  1. Fiber Egg Cartons
  2. Chipboard

Chipboard consists of cereal boxes, pop boxes, beer boxes, snack boxes (i.e.: fruit gushers, granola bars, cereal bars, etc.). Only fiber egg cartons are recyclable and this does not include styrofoam egg cartons. These items can all be bagged together or put in with the current cardboard recycling.

This will include all city garbage customers and Bud’s Clean-Up customers.

If you have any questions please contact the Public Works Department at 256-7515 or Bud’s Clean-Up at 256-2518.
