POD (Points of Dispensing) Exercise Volunteers Needed
Posted on Tuesday, February 28, 2012
It is once again time to activate our local POD (Points of Dispensing) and the Planning Committee is working on the specifics of the exercise.
Preliminary planning has been done, and we are looking for volunteers to assist with our Exercise on March 19th, 2012. Please contact one of us below if you are interested in volunteering to assist us with this exercise. Tentative plans have this exercise taking place the morning of the 19th.
In the event of an outbreak of a contagious disease or a bio-terror attack, the Madison Area has an emergency plan for protecting our community members. Depending on the situation, we may need to immunize or give antibiotics to a large number of people in order to prevent a disease outbreak. Planning has been done in preparation for “Mass Clinics” to treat a large number of people within a 2-3 day period. The March 19th exercise is our chance to test and practice our plan.
Community Volunteers are a vital part of our Readiness plan, and we hope you are able to assist us on March 19th. If you have any questions please give one of us a call.
