SUMMER ENERGY ALERT for the City of Madison

Duration: July 16th – 20th An alert is being declared due to the weeks hot temperatures. They are expected to lead to high electricity consumption. All consumers are encouraged to reduce their electricity as this will help control the peak demand on our power system.

We are asking you to turn off any extra lights, hold off on doing laundry, running the dishwasher and other activities that use extra energy during the hottest part of the day. If it is necessary to do laundry or run the dishwasher, we ask that you do it early in the morning or late in the evening. Any help you can provide during this alert is greatly appreciated!!
