Leadership Madison Group "HOPE" Community Project A Success
Posted on Thursday, December 20, 2012
The Leadership Madison Group HOPE (Honoring Our Precious Elderly), consisted of Amy Brown (Commission Soup), Gina Peak (Dakota State University), Jim Byrne (City of Madison), Marlene Goth (Ecco, Inc.) and Trasi Smith (First Line Funding). The group worked with Bethel Lutheran Home and Golden Living Center to provide Christmas gifts to the 111 residents. The tree was on display at Shopko for community members to select an angel and purchase one of the gifts listed. Shopko also graciously agreed to be the drop off location for the community. The group presented the gifts to the nursing homes on Wednesday, December 19th in time for the residents to enjoy for their Christmas parties on Thursday, December 20th.
HOPE would like give a special thank you to the following who helped make this project a success: Shopko (Steve Koenen), Bethel Lutheran Home (Cathy Stromberg), Golden Living Center (Amber Blue), Madison Fire Department (Randy Minnaert), DSU Print Shop (Deb Pauley) and all of Santa’s elves for providing the gifts.
