Advisory: Potential Winter Storm possible for the weekend

Saturday evening and Sunday weather conditions are currently appearing to have the potential of creating blizzard like conditions. Friday evening a front will move the area with wind speed around 30 mph and then tappers off.

Saturday will be above freezing however later in the afternoon rains are expected that will turn to snow after the sun goes down. Several factors have to be considered for this even. Freezing rains may cause iced over roads, and ice buildup on power lines and trees. Travel conditions will be hampered during this time. Extreme caution is advised if you have travel plans. Plan on road conditions to change rapidly!!!

Power outages could be expected as well as damage to trees and power poles. Temperatures and winds could be a major factor on how severe this weather event is.

It is currently projected that an accumulation of 1 inch of snow will occur on Saturday evening with an additional 3 inches of snow possible for Sunday. More is possible and with windy conditions this could result into blizzard like conditions.

Winter watch conditions have already been posted for areas northwest of Lake County. This will more than likely spread eastward as the conditions develop and change.
