Soybeans May Help With Asthma

Results of a new study could be good news for soybean producers, and people afflicted with asthma. The report, commissioned by the Soy Foods Council, links relief of asthma symptoms to the consumption of soy foods.

Dr. Ravi (RAH VEE) Kalhan, one of the studys researchers, says the research was initiated as the result of a food survey. Kalhan says the research was done by giving asthma sufferers an isoflavone supplement.

Kalhan says although more research needs to be done, a diet change may be the way to go, not a supplement.

Kalhan also says the next step is to conduct a full blown clinical trial, complete with a control group taking placebos.
