City Commissions Final Meeting of 2007

The Madison City Commissioners meet last at the Madison City Hall. The last meeting of 2007 fell on a Thursday night because of Christmas.
Madison Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sacha Albrecht appeared before the board to request 500 dollars for Madison hosts the Legislature. The Commissioners approved that contribution. Madison hosts the Legislature is set for January the 15th.
City Finance Officer Jeff Heinemeyer informed the Commission that the bonds for the outdoor pool had been sold. First Madison Bank bought the bonds at an interest rate of 4.6%
Also Monday night the Commission approved a Resolution to vacate the ally at 316 North Van Eps Avenue. The Commissioners also authorized the Mayor to sign an agreement with KLJ for engineering services on the Airport project, contingent on approval from the Department of Transportation.
Before the meeting was adjourned Madison Mayor Gene Hexom recognized City Attorney Jay Liebel for his 26 years of service to the city. Thursday meeting was Liebels last as City Attorney.
