Luce Pioneer Day at Lake Herman State Park
Posted on Monday, June 3, 2013
Awaken your spirit of adventure by attending our annual Luce Pioneer Day at Lake Herman State Park on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Step back 100 years into the pioneer days and watch the past come alive with living history demonstrations and hands-on crafts. This event is geared towards all ages – so bring the whole family!
Come and stay all day or just for a little while – you can pick and choose what you want to see or do. There will be a variety different demonstrations happening throughout the day, with many of them hands on. Learn how to churn butter or make a rope by hand. You can try your hand at calf roping or gold panning. You can also watch as wool is spun into yarn and apples are turned to cider and see how the pioneers lived life back in the 1800’s. There will be a selection of historical artifacts on display from area collectors as well as a Dutch oven demonstration. Make plans to attend – there will be something for everyone to do at Luce Pioneer Day.
