Downtown Businesses Expand Downtown

A couple of businesses in downtown Madison are preparing to expand... downtown.

The former Montgomery’s Furniture and Radio Shack building on North Egan Avenue in downtown Madison has been purchased by Power Promotions and Bulldog Media Group, Inc.

Bulldog Media Group, Inc. has occupied the upper level of the building for almost 11 years and looks forward to remaining downtown.

Power Promotions is currently located across the street and will be able to maintain a downtown presence while expanding their business. The additional space will allow them to expand both their inventory and services. Power Promotions is owned by Scott and Deanna Backus and is planning to move into their new location in September.

Some renovations are planned for both levels of the building with a grand opening for both businesses in the Fall.

Assistance for the purchase of the building comes from an economic development loan from the Lake Area Improvement Corporation. The funds used to assist both businesses are from the USDA.

The arrangement is good for both businesses, as well as the Madison Downtown and Beyond taskforce whose mission is to enhance the vitality of the Madison area through retail opportunities and downtown economic development.
