Community Center Wellness Studio Announced!

On Monday, July 29th at the City Commission meeting; the commissioners approved an agreement allowing the Community Center occupancy of an old dance studio on the second floor of City Hall. The Community Center will renovate and make available a Wellness Studio (equipment with cardiovascular equipment) to Community Center members. Amenities of the CC Wellness studio include 24/7 access, treadmills, elliptical trainers, and recumbent bikes.

We will offer a pre-opening introductory rate of $15 per KEY FOB. Once the CC Wellness Studio opens, Community Center members may purchase a KEY FOB for $25. KEY FOB’s will provide access to the CC Wellness Studio 24 hours a day 7 days per week with the exception of Monday evenings during commission meetings (Monday Nights 4:00 – 9:00pm). The CC Wellness studio will be equipped with security cameras and a controlled access system on the entrance door. The CC Wellness Studio is expected to be available to members later this fall and KEY FOB’s will go on sale once an opening day is established.

WHAT DOES 24/7 ACCESS MEAN IF I’M A CC MEMBER? It means that if you are 14 years and older you can have access by purchasing a KEY FOB to the CC Wellness Studio located in city hall, 7 days a week, 365 days a year including holidays. Currently the only time the CC Wellness Studio is scheduled to be closed, is during the City Commission Meetings on Monday nights from 4pm-9pm.

I’M NOT A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER; CAN I PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP TO THE CC WELLNESS STUDIO? No, the CC Wellness Studio is only available to Community Center members. Individuals with walking memberships to the Community Center are not eligible to purchase a KEY FOB to the CC Wellness Studio.

WHEN WILL THE CC WELLNESS STUDIO BE AVAILABLE? Our goal is to have the facility available early fall 2013 barring no unforeseen issues with the installation of the access system and wellness equipment.

WHAT WILL BE THE COST TO PURCHASE A KEY FOB? Starting in the fall an introductory rate of $15 will be offered to all eligible members. After this period KEY FOB’s will be available for purchase for $25 at the front desk of the Community Center. Once activated your KEY FOB is valid as long as you maintain a membership to the Community Center.

WHO MAY PURCHASE A CC WELLNESS STUDIO ACCESS FOB? All Community Center members ages 14 or above (except for walking memberships) or fulltime DSU students will be eligible for purchase a KEY FOB. The KEY FOB provides access to only one person per KEY FOB.

WHAT IF I HAVE CHILDREN WHO WOULD LIKE TO USE THE CC WELLNESS STUDIO? Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to access the CC wellness studio regardless if they are accompanied by an adult.

CAN I LET TWO OR MORE PEOPLE IN THROUGH MY KEY FOB? No, the KEY FOB only allows access to the person who it is registered too. Allowing others to use your KEY FOB will result in cancellation and termination of your CC Wellness Studio Membership.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T’ FOLLOW THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CC WELLNESS STUDIO? If you are found to be sharing your access card with others (members or non-members) or letting other individuals (members or non-members) into the facility with your card your KEY FOB will be suspended for 30 days and your KEY FOB will need to be repurchased after the suspension period has expired. In addition, you are responsible for any damages that are caused by you or others using your KEY FOB.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY KEY FOB IS LOST OR STOLEN? Report the missing KEY FOB to the Community Center immediately. We will deactivate your card and you will need to purchase a new KEY FOB. You will be financially responsible for any unauthorized use of your card while it is activated.
