F&M Co-op to Construct New Facilities
Posted on Friday, October 18, 2013
Work has begun at F&M Co-op in preparation for new facilities. Demolition has begun with the removal of the former cafe portion of their building, as well as the removal of a warehouse.
The demolitions will allow for a new shop and service area to be built just to the west of the current building. Manager Paul Schultz said the new shop will be 110 feet by 110 feet and will have room for semis to be serviced inside the area.
Once the new shop is built, Schultz said the existing store and shop will be torn down and a new store will be built. At project completion, F&M Co-op will have all new facilities.
Schultz said work is scheduled to begin this fall on the first phase of the project, with the second phase to start sometime in the spring. He said the changes are being made to provide additional services and better service to the Co-op’s customers.
F&M Co-op is located just west of Madison.
