DSU Men's Basketball Team Wins over Northwestern

The Dakota State University men's basketball team, ranked 18th in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' poll, defeated 15th ranked Northwestern College on Wednesday, November 6th at the DSU Fieldhouse.
The 78-72 victory over Northwestern (Iowa) was DSU's first win over the Red Raiders since the 1990-1991 season. The win moves DSU's record to 2-0.
The Trojans, who shot 49 percent from the field, were led in points by Marcus Smith with 20 points, Yusuf Vinson with 19, and Cameron Krupp added 14 points.
DSU's next game will be against Benedictine University at 6:00pm on Friday, November 8th at the Mitchell Corn Palace in the DWU Classic.
