Madison Ice Rinks
Posted on Tuesday, December 17, 2013
“Ice” is the word for winter in the Parks Department! We are happy to announce that we again have three ice rinks in the Madison Parks Department. Totland Park located at NE 7th Street and Roosevelt Avenue; East Center Park located at Garfield Avenue and East Center Street and the newest one at Memorial Park which is found at NW 5th Street and Blanche Avenue.
- Memorial Park rink has a supervised warming house. A special thanks to the 2011-12 Leadership Madison Community Service Group “Engaging Families”. The group raised funds and provided some of the labor for a new warming house at Memorial Park. Come out and skate under the lights! Future plans include music, hot chocolate, candy and skate rentals. Portable toilets available at all three rinks.
o Warming house is scheduled to open on Saturday, December 28th o Warming shelter hours are (weather permitting): M-F 4pm-8pm (close at 7pm if no skaters) o Your welcome to attend a Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, December 18th at 4:00pm
-
Totland Park rink is unsupervised with no warming shelter.
-
East Center Park rink has an unsupervised warming shelter that can be used, free of charge, by checking out a key at the Community Center. Please call Nick at 256-7546.
We look forward to seeing you “on the ice.”
