Ice Skating Opportunities in Madison
Posted on Monday, January 27, 2014
This year, the Madison Parks Department is pleased to announce that they have three ice rinks available.
Those locations include: Totland Park located at NE 7th Street and Roosevelt Avenue; East Center Park located at Garfield Avenue and East Center Street; and the newest one at Memorial Park which is found at NW 5th Street and Blanche Avenue.
The Memorial Park ice rink has a newly-built and supervised warming house thanks to the 2011-12 Leadership Madison Community Service Group “Engaging Families”, which raised funds and provided some of the labor for the warming house at Memorial Park.
The Memorial Park ice rink is lit and now has skate rentals available! Weather permitting, the warming shelter hours are: Monday-Friday 4pm-8pm (closing at 7pm if no skaters); Saturday & Sunday 12pm-6pm. The Totland Park rink is unsupervised with no warming shelter. The East Center Park rink has an unsupervised warming shelter that can be used, free of charge, by checking out a key at the Community Center.
Portable toilets are available at all three rinks.
