Junior Achievement Looking to Grow
Posted on Thursday, January 10, 2008
Students in the Madison School district are getting classroom instructions from more people than just their teachers. For the last few years, citizens turned instructors have been taking part in a nation wide program called Junior Achievement. It allows members of the community to go into local classrooms, and show students how what they learn in school can be applied to life after it.
Mechelle Nordberg is the board president of Junior Achievement in Madison, she says the program has growing greatly from a small trial run.
The Classes are taught in six sessions, with only a small amount of prep time required.
The group would like to expand the program, but does need to work within their fund raising.
Anyone with interest in Junior Achievement is encouraged to contact a board member, or board president Mechelle Nordberg.
