Madison Capital For A Day Schedule Announced

PIERRE, S.D. – On Wednesday, August 19, Madison will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day. Activities for the day will include a community social with the Governor, a Main Street walk, tours around Madison and a roundtable meeting.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the community social at the Second Street Diner (610 S. Washington Ave.) at 10 a.m., where they will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Gov. Daugaard.
The First Lady will accompany the Governor for the day and will be reading at the Madison Public Library (209 E. Center St.) at 11 a.m. All children from the community are invited to come and listen to the First Lady read stories during this time.
At 2 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting event for Rosebud Cabinetry & Lodging Furniture to celebrate 50 years in business. The public is welcome to attend.
