Habitat Fundraiser

The East Central South Dakota chapter of Habitat for Humanity is kicking off 2008 with a silent auction and benefit dinner on Saturday, February 2nd.

The chapter hopes to raise $164,000 this year in order to double its home-building efforts in the area. Plans are to construct two homes in 2008, one in Lake County and one in Moody County.

The fund raiser will be held at the Hillside Resort on Lake Madison. A social hour with entertainment and auction bids will start at 6:00 p.m.; dinner will be at 7:00 p.m. The silent auction will feature a variety of items from Madison-area businesses such as Pelican Landing, AmericInn, Common Grounds, and the Madison Country Club .

Tickets for the Feb. 2 dinner cost 50 dollars per person, which includes a 30 dollar tax-deductible donation to Habitat for Humanity of East Central South Dakota and are available at the Hillside Resort, Madison Realty, and the Habitat for Humanity office at 117 North Harth Avenue.
