Details are slowly coming together after an incident at McCook Central School yesterday.
The McCook County Sheriffs office confirmed that for several hours no one was allowed in or out of the School, after a young student thought that she saw someone get out of a car with a gun and fire it once before driving away at about 11am. Authorities patrolled the area around the school Wednesday afternoon have not found the car or a shell casing.
Students were kept in the school, and no one was allowed in or out, while the investigation was conducted.
McCook Central had just put in a new emergency plan into effect this summer. The school had not practiced that plan before yesterdays incident.
The McCook Sheriffs office is looking for the vehicle. They say it is a white four door Pontiac, maybe a 2000 or 2001.
