Debate Tournament Begins Today

Over three hundred high school students from 19 South Dakota schools will be descending on Madison today for the 41st Annual Karl E. Mundt Debate Tournament. Brett Kearin is the director of this years tournament, he says the number of participants is up this year.
The tournament will use most of the rooms in the High School and Middle school, as well as some room at Dakota State University. DSU is also playing a role in the debut of a new software program at todays tournament.
The Karl E. Mundt Debate Tournament is supported by the Karl E. Mundt Foundation. The former South Dakota Senator was a co-founder of the National Forensics League, the organization that helps direct high school speech competitions.
