City Commission Weekly Meeting
Posted on Tuesday, February 12, 2008
The Madison City Commission held their weekly meeting last night.
Brenda Thompson appeared before the commission, asking for a building permit wavier. Thompson is looking to purchase Madison Arms, and Village Green apartments in Madison. She plans on rehabilitating those units that are targeted for low to moderate income housing. The Commission authorized the mayor to sign a letter of support, and waived the building permit fee for the project. The letter will be used to help Thompson receive a zero percent financing loan.
Also Monday the commissioners approved a proposal from Banner Engineering for a water distribution study costing $13,400. The mayor was also authorized to sign the proposal.
Commissioners also acknowledged a Water Service request from Kingbrook Water service, regarding property owned by Mark Johnson south of Madison.
The Commission will meet next Monday, Presidents day, for their weekly meeting.
