MHS Senior wins Neuharth Scholarship

Jennifer Adams, a senior at Madison High School, has been named as the female recipient of South Dakota of the Al Neuharth (new-harth) Free Spirit Scholarship. The Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors who wish to pursue a degree in journalism and an abundance of free spirit. Each fall hundreds of students across the nation compete for this scholarship and the opportunity to travel Washington, D.C., in the spring to meet with journalists and newsmakers during the Free Spirit Scholarship and Conference Program.

One female and one male high school senior are selected from each state and the District of Columbia to receive this prestigious scholarship and opportunity.

Adams will receive a $1,000 scholarship that is transferable to any college, and an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. March 15-20.
