Johnson and Fargen Join House Race

The deadline to file for elected positions in South Dakota is less than 48 hours away. With Tuesday's deadline approaching, the candidate lists have been growing quickly.
Over the weekend Flandreau democrat Mitch Fargen turned in his paper work petitions for one of the two District 8 House seats. A recent graduate of South Dakota State University, with degrees in business economics and political science, Fargen is currently a new membership coordinator and legislative assistant for The South Dakota Farmers Union.
Also joining that race this weekend was Madison Republican Jerry Johnson. A current Madison City Commissioner, Johnson's term on that commission expires this year. Johnson and Fargen will be joined on the ballot by former representative Gerry Lange. Lange filed his petition last month.
