City Commission Meets Tonight

The Madison City Commission will consider improvements to the Waste Water Treatment Plant at tonight's commission meeting. The City of Madison is considering raising the perimeter grade around the existing waste water treatment plant to provide protection from elevated water levels at Park Creek. If an agreement with Geotek Engineering of Sioux Falls is approved, Geotek would perform soil borings to retrieve samples for analysis. A report would then discus the stability of that soil for construction.

Also today, commissioners will acknowledge a letter from the Department of Agriculture announcing Madison as a 2007 Tree City USA, review an EDA grant application, and review the specs for the Division Avenue Construction Project.

Today's City Commission meeting begins at 5:30, in the commission room of Madison City Hall.
