Madison Central Voters Elect Two New Members
Posted on Wednesday, April 9, 2008
Twenty percent of the registered voters turned out to cast their vote for the two three-year seats available on the Madison Central School Board. After the polls closed, it was Jay Niedert getting the most votes, receiving 689 and Tammy Jo Zingmark coming in second with 622 votes. Cory Heidelberger finished the day with 499 votes and Paul Weist with 460. Niedert and Zingmark as the top two vote getters will fill the school board seats vacated by Rod Goeman and David Zolnowsky.
The Madison Central School Board will still be short one member as no one sought to fill the 2 year term, which is balance of time left on Kelly Johnson's term. Gwen Thompson was appointed by the school board to fill that seat this past year. Since no one ran for the seat, the school board will once again have to appoint someone to fill that vacancy.
