Lights Continue to Burden Madison School Board
Posted on Thursday, April 10, 2008
The Madison Elementary School parking lot has been a work in progress for the past few weeks after problems arose with the light poles installed in 2006. New poles are expected to be installed- but the process has stretched out longer than many had hoped due to funding issues. Madison Superintendent Vince Schaefer says the problem with the initial poles is that they were too brittle to withstand a South Dakota winter.
The old lights have been taken down- but no replacements have been installed. Schaefer assures taxpayers that this time around- their dollars will be put to good use. Schaefer and the school board will discuss the lights and other issues including roof repair at their weekly meeting this Monday.
