Howard Fire Department Applying for Tanker Grant
Posted on Thursday, April 10, 2008
The Howard City Council met in regular session on Monday, April 7. John Mengenhausen and Kevin Feldhaus, representing the Howard Fire Department, met with the Council to discuss a need for a new tanker. The department is applying for a grant to purchase a tanker, but if they don't receive the grant they asked that any money left over from assisting with the Wild land Fires be put in a savings account for the tanker purchase. The board decided this issue would need to be discussed with the Rural Fire Board before any action can be taken.
Howard Farmers Coop applied for a special exception to erect two new grain bins that would be over the permitted 45 feet. Meeting as the Planning and Zoning Commission, the council recommend approval of the special exception application.
Also Monday the date for the Howard citywide clean was set for June 3rd & 5th.
