Dakota State Part of 'Big Give'

Dakota State students, staff and faculty are working in conjunction with a national television show to help a needy local family. DSU raised nearly $1,300 to help the Konokowitz family as part of Oprahs Big Give. The show gave $10,000 to 100 television stations across the country to use for a worthy cause. KSFY in Sioux Falls was one of the stations chosen, and split their money into fourths, giving $2,500 to Avera, Target and CitiBank.
Target chose to help the Konokowitz family of Sioux Falls and recruited DSU and other organizations to help raise money. DSU used 2 fund-raising events: Storm the Campus and Casual Friday. Students went door to door asking for donations for Storm the Campus, while faculty and staff were given the chance to wear jeans for a $5.00 donation on Casual Friday. Today DSUs donation will be added into the total donation and revealed to the Konokowitz family.
