Posted on Wednesday, April 23, 2008
This week in South Dakota and Minnesota- the National Weather Service is observing Severe Weather Awareness Week to ensure residents are prepared for the upcoming severe weather season. Todd Heitkamp of the weather service in Sioux Falls says the goal of the week is simple. Today, Heitkamp says communities across the state will be conducting tests of their severe weather alerts, allowing residents the opportunity to practice their plans of action.
Heitkamp says a plan for severe weather is essential in keeping your family safe. And it requires planning for many different possible scenarios.
