Close Up has been the nations leading civic education provider since 1971. In that time, they've made it their mission to educate, inspire and empower individuals to become active citizens in our democracy. Each year through Close Up's Washington, D.C. based experiential learning programs and multimedia publications, they help more than 1 million students and teachers in 15,000 schools nationwide develop the skills needed to begin a lifetime of active citizenship.
This past Wednesday, four Madison High School students: David Kenyon, Matt Wollman, Meagen Abraham and Jacqueline Adams, as well as Madison High School Teacher, Rick Jenson were fortunate enough to be chosen to be a part of the program and got to travel to Washington to meet with South Dakota Senator, Tim Johnson.
