May Mobilization In Full Swing

Law enforcement agencies all across the state are zeroing in on seatbelt use and encouraging travelers to Buckle up! Every Trip. Every Time.

The Highway Patrol, sheriffs offices and local police departments are ratcheting up their public education efforts, enforcement efforts, and presence to help remind people of the importance of buckling up. Its part of the nationwide May Mobilization Campaign that runs from May 12 to June 1.

Seatbelt use in South Dakota is improving. In the last seven years, South Dakota has seen a nearly 20% increase in use, from 53.4% in 2000 to 73% last year.
