Yankton Murder Suspect and Victim Named

In a late afternoon press release yesterday, Yankton Police Chief Duane Heeney identified the victim of an apparent early morning shooting in Yankton. Patrick Montgomery, 46 of Yankton was found dead at his home located at 2008 Elm in Yankton early yesterday morning.

Through a joint investigation of the YPD, and South Dakota DCI, 28 year old Shane Michael Tweedy of Crofton Nebraska has been arrested and is being held in the Yankton County Safety Center on no bond in connection with Montgomery's death. The two agencies are continuing their investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for today in Sioux Falls.
