Stolen Lottery Ticket

Over the weekend a Sioux Falls man learned the hard way that if you have a winning lottery ticket, it's not a good idea to show it off at a party.
Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says the 26-year-old man was at a party with some co-workers at a west-side apartment just before 3:30 Sunday morning, and was showing off his lottery ticket, which Clemens says was worth a "substantial" amount of money. The crime is being investigated as a felony because the amount of the lottery ticket was well over $2000.00.
By mid-morning yesterday, the ticket had not been recovered, and no one had been arrested in the case, although Clemens says police do have a possible suspect. The former ticket-holder and two of his friends were left with minor injuries from the fight.
