Primary Election Results

In last nights race for Lake County commissioner at large, 5 candidates vied for 3 spots on the November ballot, Scott Pederson, Dan Bohl, Roger Hageman, Chris Giles and Rod Goeman. Of those 5, Chris Giles, Roger Hageman and Dan Bohl will move on, garnering 651, 575 and 526 votes respectively.

In other races in Lake County, Republican Senator John McCain won 69% of the vote while his closest competitor, Ron Paul garnered only 14%.

Moving on to the Democratic race for President. Hillary Clinton won Lake County over Barack Obama by a margin of 61% to 38%.

And Joel Dykstra won the Republican nomination for US Senate by crushing his 2 opponents 65% to 24% for Sam Kephart and only 9% for Charles Gonyo.

Voter turnout in Lake County was 42% and statewide was 37%.
